Who Can Join

Congressional FCU has a very large and diverse field of membership. We provide financial services to the U.S. House of Representatives, local companies, associations, organizations, and their immediate family members. If you work for one of our membership groups, you are eligible for lifetime membership with Congressional FCU.

Our Core Membership Group
Our core membership group is the U.S. House of Representatives. We have proudly served the Members of Congress, the employees of the U.S. House of Representatives and their families since 1953. Our products and services are also available to other select groups and their families across the United States.

Family Membership
Your household members and immediate family members may join Congressional FCU after you have opened your account. Credit Union membership is one of the best gifts you can give a family member. You can help a granddaughter save for college or even help your son get his first mortgage. Your family can enjoy all the benefits of lifetime membership no matter where they live or work.

Once your family members have joined, their family members also become eligible. Family members are entitled to full membership privileges and retain their Congressional FCU membership even in the event your account is closed. If you are not eligible as a family member, you can further determine your eligibility by contacting a member service representative. Our members are a source of pride, not profit ®.

Field of Membership
Although the U.S. House of Representatives is our core group, we also serve many other select employee groups. We have a wide variety of groups in our field of membership including law firms, health organizations, software companies, and many others. Plus, if you are currently working for one of these companies but plan on changing jobs or retiring, you can keep your membership. Once you are a member, you are a member for life as long as you keep $5 in your savings account .
